Art Prize Winners Extend Restaurant Happy Hours

Yesterday, on October 7th as the Art Prize was celebrating the 2009 Art Prize winners the area restaurants in Grand Rapids extended their happy hours. Let's see who became the winners.

The top three places of the 2009 Art Prize winners were shared among Open Water by Ran Ortner, Imagine That by Tracy Van Duinen and Portraits by Eric Daigh. A professional motorcycle racer Ran Ortner was born in 1959 in San Fracisco and studied art in Canada and in UK. " Drawn to the physicality and energy of motorcycle racing, Ortner later transferred this dynamism into his approach to painting," comments Art Prize.

The 4th place came The Grand Dance by David Lubbers. Moose, by Bill Secunda came the 5th. Nessie Project, a sculpture work, came on sixth.

The seventh place came the Field of Reeds by John Douglas Powers. The furniture by Sarah Grant came 8th.

Ninth and tenth places were shared respectively between Ecstasy of... by Jason Hackenwerth and Winddancer by Michael Westra.
