Have you ever thought of Charlotte as the best to be, hear, and mangia everything Italian? You got that right.

One day only Saturday October 10, 2009 from 11am to 7pm uptown at the Wachovia Atrium on Tryon you will feast on famous delicacies such as eggplant parmigiana, sausage and peppers, meatball sandwiches and of course you must top it off with a cannoli and expresso!

The Christopher Columbus Italian Club of Charlotte is producing this annual event now in its 13th year. A new feature of the Ciao, Italia! Festival this year will be The Chefs Corner, offering Italian cooking lessons from the Charlotte region’s best restaurants. In addition, the festival features the Authors Corner, children’s activity area, wine tasting, a display of Italian cultural items, cheese making demonstrations and more.

No Italian festival with plentiful food goes without passionate music to our ears uplifting our hearts! To our delight, a wide variety of entertainment from the Opera Carolina Chorus to International Soprano Gina Gutierrez, to a special appearance by Italian singer, Franco Corso, back by popular demand.

Raffle drawings with valuable items will be held throughout the day-grand prize $1000!

Admission to the Ciao, Italia! Festival is $3 dollars and children under 12 are free. Go to www.italian-club-charlotte.org for event schedule.

Come give a hug, Amici! Did you know that touching in a safe setting spikes oxytocin-the “feel-good” hormone in the brain-which can help people bond more quickly?

Benvenuto a Tutti! La Vita E Bella in Charlotte! (Welcome All, Life is Beautiful in Charlotte!)
