Kourtney Kardashian gives birth to baby boy, our neighbor too

The news is that Kim Kardashian's sister Kourtney Kardashian gives birth to a baby boy Mason. TMZ reported it, and perhaps that's natural, but when CNN reported it, one may want to question the definition of news.

First, let's welcome Kourtney Kardashian's baby boy Mason Dash Disick to this world and wish him all the best. May he enjoy God's blessing and have healthy life surrounded by family and loved once.

Now there is another news. Our neighbor yesterday gave birth to a baby boy too. This is a wonderful family. Parents are very much involved in the community and give back tremendously. The have strong family values and their personal life is private. They don't have tapes all over the internet like many whom this society celebrates and calls them "celebrities."

Yet, no one wrote about them in the media. Not even our local newspaper. CNN did not come to their house. Yet, big networks and newspapers like CNN chose it necessary to write about "chosen" and "select" celebrity children. "Kourtney, the oldest of the three Kardashian sisters who appear on the E! network shows "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami," announced she was pregnant in August. She shared news of the pregnancy with radio host Ryan Seacrest," writes the top network.

Therefore, one begs the question of why Kourtney Kardashian's Baby deserves so much attention, while good people across America doing so much good for the public wellness hardly get mentioned in a local media. Has the definition of news change?

Today's celebrity childbirths get much more attention than when "a child was born" in 2000 years ago that changed the entire world. The point of this opinion-piece is that media is called to be more responsible in choosing and proposing news stories to the public. When it comes to Kourtney Kardashian and her boy Mason, extra publicity and press is one of the list things they may need at this time, especially for her, just as she gave birth to a child.
