
The area hotels in The Miami and Fort Lauderdale are in the third place in the top 10 North American cities where hotel prices have fallen more than 15 percent in December.
The median price of a night 4-star hotel in Miami-Fort Lauderdale was $88, according to Hotwire.com. Only Houston (19 percent) and Jacksonville (17 percent) had minor declines.
In Orlando there was a decrease of 14 percent and San Francisco hotel rates fell 12 percent.
Despite some stabilization in hotel prices which are already low, some hotels are lowering prices and continue to offer some amazing discounts on Hotwire until next year, its president said.
Smith Travel Research had already reported that prices in hotels in Miami-Dade had fallen 15.6 percent in the week ended Dec. 5, reports Diario Las Americas.
The highest drop of hotel prices has been observed in Houston, where the prices have fallen 19 percent. Second came Jacksonville in Florida with 17 percent. Miami area is the third in the fall of hotel prices in the USA.
