Another big bonus for an executive is looming. According to Times of London Lloyd Blankfein is reportedly getting ready to be paid 100 million dollars in bonuses. Goldman Sachs is denying the report saying the board is "yet to make its decision on exec. comp." and that "this sort of speculative nonsense calls into question the editorial standards of the paper."
Yet, Times of London is not a one person two days old blog, but a serious news outlet. If the other bankers are talking about it in Davos then there must be a merit to this story. However, as Times of London puts it The bankers in Davos "understood" that Mr Blankfein and other top bankers were set to receive "some of the bank's biggest-ever payouts, in defiance of President Obama's attempt to shame banks into cutting bonuses."
