When I was in school getting my license I had a great instructor he was a 30 year veteran of the Real Estate industry and a graduate of the Realtor Institute"GRI" and his advise to me was get as much knowledge under your belt as you can in the first couple of years because that is when you will need it the most and have the most free time to pursue it. I have listened to him and taken over 12 classes my first two years(both for knowledge and to keep my license active) I am currently getting my Short Sale and Forecloser Specialist Designation (SFR) and plan on getting my Buyers Resource Designation(ABR) soon.
The next good advise I received was in the beginning of my second year by my current broker, he told me to host as many Open Houses as I can either my own or for a fellow agent in the office this has brought me several Buyer leads and I enjoy doing them very much.
Now I begin my third year and I finally will be building my business with both courage and knowledge in knowing I was trained by the best and can always ask for help if needed.
For all you newbies out there like me just keep plugging away and never give up, your next big deal is waiting just around the corner.
