Carpet Cleaning during holiday

For those of you with children going trick or treating we all know what a mess candy can be. Here are some tips on how to get those tricky, spooky stains left over from the kiddos out of your carpet.

Hard candy

Start with moistening candy with cold water in order to dissolve the sugar. After candy starts to loosen pull the large pieces of candy out of the carpet, slowly you don’t want to pull the carpet. Apply a stain remover to get the stain left behind. I recommend oxy clean. Spray over stain let dissolve for a couple of minutes then go over with a wet towel soaked in cold water. You may also use white vinegar for a more natural approach.

Oh and let’s not forget Halloween make up:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of dishwashing soap mixed with 1 cup of warm water.
  • Let soap set in and go back over stain with a wet wash cloth.
