Some think Iran as a major donor in Afghan reconstruction has an important role to play in the peace building and stabilizing in Afghanistan. According to Al Jazeera report USA and the Obama Administration are realizing it and have invited Iran few weeks ago to an Afghan stabilization peace conference in Hague.
However, as Afghanistan's former primer minister says "I don't think so," referring to Iran's role. He says on one side it's Karzai's regime and on the other side it's the Taliban. If these two sit down and start a dialogue, no other involvement may be needed.
