Late Whitney Houston did not have many followers on her Twitter and asked people to follow her.
Legendary singer Whitney Houston, who passed away this evening at the Beverly Hilton hotel, had only 5 tweets in her account and one of them was pleading fans to follow her. While there are number of fake Twitter and Facebook accounts claiming to be her's the real one is https://twitter.com/#!/realwhitney.
At the time of this writing she only had some 7000+ fans, but the number is growing furiously fast after her death.
Yet, Whitney did not twit much. In fact her last tweet was almost two years ago, in which she verifies that she is the real Houston. Whitney opened her Twitter account on February 26 of 2010 and only wrote 5 tweets, the last one being on March 10 of the same year.
She has more fans on her Facebook page. But that one is run on her behalf by the agency that represents her. The last Facebook post there talks about the excitement in regard to the upcoming Grammys. Houston won "Best Pop Vocal Performance" at the 28th Awards for her hit "Saving All My Loving."
The only five tweets by Houston seem to show a struggle for identify. See how many times she writes that she is the real Whitney behind that account.
On 26 February, 2010 @RealWhitney twits: "This is the official Whitney Houston twitter page. Please follow." Then on the same day she writes "this is a fake twitter @whitney__h I am the real whitney houston please follow."
On March 5 of the same year she wrote "i love all my fans ! wow." We don't know how many fans we had at that time.
On March 22 she wrote in reply to @LeighSamuels14 "@jayleigh14 thank you, well you have found me. will you tell people to follow me thanx."
Her final tweet was in reply to Jaz Davis and it is yet another confirmation that she is the real Whitney. She wrote "@trulyyoursjd yes i am the real whitney," and never tweeted again in this age of social media communication.
At the time of the completion of this story, the number of her Twitter followers rose to 9,830 and is going up. Sorry that she could not see it while in this world.
Having reported all this, HULIQ is still unsure why there is no green checkmark next to her Twitter account. Perhaps because she only tweeted for a month and discontinued it?
Rest in peace great singer.
