Patriarch Bartholomew, the leader of Orthodox Church says he feels like "crussified" in Turkey as Christians are treated as second class citizens in a country aspiring to become a European Union member. This has already led to tensions between the Patriarch and the Turkish authorities writes Today's Zaman.
"Remarks by Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew, in which he likened his treatment by the government in Turkey to crucifixion, have led to disappointment and anger in Ankara, with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu saying that he wished those remarks had been a "slip of the tongue."
