Scientists rule out that the strange halo cloud over the city of the Russian capital Moscow is a UFO. They say it is just a white cloud and is an optical illusion.
NASA has documented many strange and halo looking clouds over various cities and Moscow is just another example. They are called Noctilucent clouds. However, they are relatively a new phenomenon.
"Noctilucent clouds are a relatively new phenomenon," says Gary Thomas, a professor at the University of Colorado who studies NLCs. "They were first seen in 1885" about two years after the powerful eruption of Krakatoa hurled plumes of volcanic ash as much as 80 km high in Earth's atmosphere.
In fact today's strange halo cloud in Moscow has been also seen around the sunset. While the scientists have ruled out chemical reason, they will examine the weather conditions that have led to the formation of this strange halo cloud hovering over the city of Moscow.
