The Playstation Move, Sony's take on motion-sensing controllers, has a release date set for the middle of September of this year.
Earlier this week at E3, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) unveiled the Playstation Move and showed off its motion sensor controls to an amazed audience. Using the wand-shaped Move, gamers will now have a brand new experience when playing games on their Playstations.
The Playstation Move is set for a release date of September 19th in the US for the regular retail price of $49.99. Also releasing on that day will be the Playstation Move navigation controller, which helps make movement within a game that supports the Playstation Move much more intuitive, for $29.99.
On top of the Playstation Move controllers, Sony will also release bundle packs to make the impact on consumers' wallets a little easier.
One such bundle will comprise of a Playstation Move motion controller, Playstation eye camera, Sports Champion game, and a demo disc of other Playstation Move compatible games for $99.
In addition to that, gamers can choose to purchase the PlayStation 3 Sports Champion Move Bundle, which includes all the aforementioned items, as well as a PS3 game system, and costs $399.
Sony is already planning on releasing over 20 titles that support the new Playstation Move by the middle of 2011. Some of those title include, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest, and several others.
The Playstation Move motion controller and navigation controller are not the only accessories that are planned for release. Soon after they hit the shelves, Sony will make available the Playstation Move charging station and shooting attachment.
The Move charging station is exactly what it sounds like, a dock used to charge your Playstation Move controllers. It will be available the same day as the motion and navigation controller for $29.99.
Gamers will have much more control in shooting games with the Playstation Move shooting attachment when it is released for $19.99 later in the fall.
Sony Computer Entertainment is planning on adding many more features to the Playstation Move, and thus increasing the gamer experience for countless users the world over. For international release dates and prices, check Sony's Press Release.
