Oprah Winfrey is calling teen singing sensation, Charice, "the most popular girl in the world". Oprah welcomed Charice to the Oprah Show where Charice performed her song, “Note To God,” written by multi-Grammy winning songwriter Diane Warren. Oprah said that Charice has an "amazing voice".
When being called "the most popular girl in the world," by Oprah Winfrey, you know Charice has "got it" for sure! When Charice sang on the Oprah Show, the audience literally did not utter a word for her entire performance, but instead were utterly blown away by Charice's talent. Charice is said to have a "profound, rich and soaring 10 decibel voice from every inch of her 5 feet 1 inch body".
Charice, born and raised in the Philippines, was discovered at 4 years old. Her mother noticed Charice's loud and enthusiastic version of “Happy Birthday” and started Charice with singing lessons. She was fully trained by age 7. Charice is now 17, young, petite and has an exuberant amount of energy which continues to propel her to the top of the music world. It certainly doesn't hurt Charice to be aided by shows like the Oprah Winfrey show, to share her talent with a worldwide audience.
Charice's has already accumulated more than 13 million hits on YouTube and thanks to Charice's showcase on the Oprah Show, she is becoming more and more popular daily. In May 2010, Charice released her first album entitled, "Pyramid". She had this to say about her accomplishment, "I’m so proud of this record and feel so lucky that I had the chance to work with some of the best songwriters and producers out there. Every note and every word is right from my heart.” And Charice is indeed winning the hearts of America and the world.
Charice also had a featured role in the recent “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movie. Her album, “Pyramid" will be released to Top 40 radio in March with remixes already getting airplay at the clubs.
Charise has appeared not only on the Oprah Winfrey Show, but also on the Ellen DeGeneres Show before she performed several times on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah stated this about Charice, “You are a force to be reckoned with. That voice comes from something bigger than yourself." Charice has shared, “I want to sing and dance with Justin Timberlake.” Her 13 million fans certainly would love to see that. Charice is set to appear on the television show, "Glee" next season in the role of a foreign exchange student.

#1 America's not buying it.
America's not buying it. She's a good singer but has a huge hype machine behind her which didn't pan out when she released her debut album. It's always easy if you're a good singer to remake someone else's classic. Charice is a good cover artist.
#2 America is pretty racist, that's why
@GETREAl
All over Asia, Europe, Middle East and Australia - people are buying it...
America is just racist toward Asian artists, period....But Charice is slowly but surely chipping away...you'll see.
#3 I don't know who you are
I don't know who you are GETREAI...where you are coming from...you have to substantiate your comments with facts... Her album is still on BIllboard Top 200 and her single Pyramid peaked at No.1. Please do not spread hatred and please do not speak for the American people becuase you could be just one of the few haters of Charice... and by the way it's not only America that is buying her album as Chairce has a global base.
#4 Charice and Glee
Yeyyy, now i have reason to watch Glee!! Charice is one very interesting addition to the cast.
#5 Phillippine chick can sing !
I saw this chick perform here in Florida and damn this chick can sing ! I can see what the hype is all about, she's really that good live.
#6 Get Real
Dude..you got to get your facts straight. I have been in the record business in Los Angeles....and believe me Charice is very well known here....You need a psychiatrist ..Mr.Get Reall..what a freak.
#7 Charice @ age 2 was when it all started
Correction please .... MommyRaq (as she is called by Chasters) noticed Charice's very loud and enthusiastic, on pitch happy birthday song at age 2 (not 4 as wirtten on this blog). MomRaq started keeping an eye on her little girl but pretended not to pay attention coz Charice was a very shy little girl at that age. MommyRaq discovered Charice singing her very first song "My heart will go on" on top of the table operating the karaoke machine by herself. She was only 4 yrs old and sounded so much like Celine that her mom thought the radio was on. At age 7 she started to join singing contests. Her life docu drama is on you tube produced by MMK (maala-ala Mo Kaya) under ABS-CBN. It was also mentioned again on Oprah. Mommy Raq'a interviews are also in you tube.
#8 Charice flopped even with the tremendous hype
Her single and albums are flops. Her single fell out of the Hot 100 in two weeks. Her album's performance on the Billboard 200 indicates that she is only propelled by an Oprah boost and support from Filipino Americans.
#9 Charice a flop says crabby commenter
i don't think so cardcrusher. Charice is fantastic and she has that exceptional talent recognized by many peoples of the world already. I think you've got personal issues you alone can resolve or else go see a shrink. thank yeww
#10 re Charice flopped even with the tremendous hype
Well I guess when you're at the top there's no other way but to go down.
One must accept the fact that Charice is the first ever Filipino/Asian artist who got counted at the Billboard top 10 and she's just eighteen! Yes she was propelled by Oprah and she will be forever grateful to her. :-)
