Farewell to Trevin Hunt, a transformed man and singer from The Voice

Trevin Hunte bid goodbye to The Voice when the votes were counted. The young man with the big voice has plenty ahead of him but not the finals.

It wasn't the biggest of surprises that Team Blake's Cassadee Pope and Terry McDermott made it to the season three final show on The Voice.

The mystery was who would survive between Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte from Team CeeLo.

The two men, as different as night and day had become brothers in arms.

Nicholas and Trevin had emotionally bonded and become friends during the months of competition shows; both a long way from their homes, in Georgia for Hunte and Minnesota for David.

The semi-finals performance of Hunte made the difference. It wasn't his finest hour as far as song pitch, but he performed it like a pro.

Singing "Wind Beneath My Wings" after viewing along with the audience the video of his touching and triumphant return to his home town, the big bear of a young man commanded the stage and our attention.

Prior to the announcement of his departure, Trevin and Nicholas showed love for each other in a way that was a lot more than perfunctory.

Many times on shows like these, competitors mouth nice things about each other but don't necessarily mean anything they say.

Trevin Hunte's smile couldn't have been bigger and in that sense, the young man had grown. It was hard to coax a smile from him in the early going.

He had been told he'd amount to nothing by some teacher of his along the way and his fear of believing, believing in himself was palpable.

He leaves The Voice and loving coach CeeLo Green with head held high, energy, hope and the knowledge that he's good enough to succeed. One can only trust he finds worthy people to guide him.

If past seasons tell us anything, the best of the competitors have been taken care of by their coaches or record producers who found them through The Voice.

Last night, season two finalists Juliet Simms from Team CeeLo and Chris Mann from Team Christina performed.

Both have new records and Chris Mann already performed for the First Family. He has two PBS specials on tap and a Christmas EP he was plugging on Jay Leno.

Blake Shelton's blond cutie from season two, RaeLynn sang a tune and informed us that she is touring with Blake and wife Miranda as well as with other acts.

Tony Lucca, another season two finalist appeared with coach Adam Levine to announce his record deal with Levine and to show off his new beard.

There is plenty in store for Trevin Hunte as we wave him off the NBC sound stage in L.A. All the best Trevin. You deserve it and earned it proudly.

The finals show on NBC's The Voice will air next Monday night at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and the results will be announced on Tuesday night at the same time.
