Dr. Oz advised his audience that snacking throughout the day can help boost weight loss, while Weight Watchers has tips for what to eat.
Dr. Mehmut Oz says that new science proves snacking on the right foods at the right times can turn your body into a fat burning machine. It's all about metabolism and of course, choosing the right snack foods.
Oz suggests that a snack one to two hours prior to dinner can work to keep you from over indulging for your evening meal. Aim for a snack that's under 200 calories that ideally has no more than 10 grams of protein and up to six grams of fiber.
If you think that sounds boring or hard to figure out, think again. Here's one delicious and inviting snack that fits the bill, care of Dr. Oz:
An Italian antipasto snack bag with one slice of prosciutto, one piece of mozzarella 2% fat string cheese, two olives, a 1/4 cup of drained chick peas and one cup of cleaned and sliced zucchini.
Dr. Oz and Weight Watchers have teamed up to make American slimmer and healthier. If you don't already know about Dr. Oz's Million Dollar Weight Loss Challenge, you still have time to learn and enter to win.

Dieticians including Nelda Mercer who is also a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association encourage snacking for fat burning. Eating four to five times a day and not going more than four yours between eating is optimum for weight loss.
Not only does eating more often keep metabolism rates up but it also assists in curbing overeating when hunger strikes. Weight Watchers believes that volume snacks and those that take time to eat, with lots of chewing are the most satisfying to those on weight loss journeys.
While thoughts might turn to vegetables, which offer all the volume without many calories, you will be surprised at the snacks you might already crave that fall into that light snack category.
The key is portion control. It can be costly to purchase individual serving sizes and that's why you will start using all those plastic containers and freezer bags you have accumulated.
Three large stick pretzels offer the salty taste you love with lots of chewing and volume. That serving size contains only 120 calories and one gram of fat.
If you like something cheesy to spread on the pretzels, try one slice of The Laughing Cow light cheese wedges, which are 35 calories and 1.5 fat grams.
Measured portions of dry cereal you like or baked chips work just as well. Use the government mandated nutrition facts listed on the packaging to determine the recommended portion size.
There are plenty of suggestions and recipes available at Dr. Oz's website, doctoroz.com as well as the Weight Watchers Facebook page.
