Khloe Kardashian is out publicizing the season 2 premiere of "Khloe & Lamar" and spoke of her shock upon learning that Lamar Odom was envious of sister Kourtney's pregnancy.
Kourtney Kardashian, older sister and fellow reality show star is in the midst of her second pregnancy and to Khloe's dismay, she learned that her husband isn't dealing with that news in a similar fashion to her.
During her morning show interview on Today with Natalie Morales Khloe said:
"It's always on the plan for Lamar and I to start a family," Kardashian revealed during a Wednesday morning visit to TODAY. "But when I heard that (he was jealous), it really broke my heart to hear that cause I didn't think he felt that way. I mean, definitely we want kids. But we really are 'when it happens, it happens.'
Khloe attempting to get pregnant was an integral plot device during of season one of the E! hit show and after it concluded last year, the talk continued. Lamar Odom is the father of three children from his previous relationship, one of whom was lost to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The couple is on the same wave length about getting busy and starting their own family. It just has not happened and the buzz surrounding the issue has caused fertility clinics to send gifts to Khloe, touting their services.
But, the surprise that Lamar was moved to envy over his sister-in-law's delicate condition was news to Khloe. Kim Kardashian, inserted herself into the conversation with a quote from an upcoming Allure magazine spread. “Khloe joked with me and said, 'Will you be my surrogate?'”
Paternity seems to be a theme that Khloe Kardashian seems destined to address during season 2. It was only last month that her DNA was in question when the rumor surfaced that she wasn't the child of Robert Kardashian.
Because of Kris Jenner's admitted infidelities while married to him, there was credence given to statements by two women who married Kardashian in succession after his divorce from Kris. Read: Khloe Kardashian's DNA is in question.
The women swore on all that was holy that they heard Robert say that Khloe was not his biological child but he loved her enough not to make it an issue for her. During an episode of the family's flagship reality program, "Keeping Up With the Kardashians", Khloe joked about the situation but never actually got to the point of testing her DNA.
Another big theme to be tackled in season 2 is Lamar Odom's sudden trade to the Dallas Mavericks from the Los Angeles Lakers and the couple's move to Big D. It resulted in Khloe spending her first Christmas away from the Kardashian family dinner table and her leaving the nest for the first time in her life.
