Kobe and Vanessa's family night out, what's up?

Kobe Bryant and his soon-to-be ex-wife Vanessa along with daughters Gianna and Natalia took in the L.A. Kings playoff game at Staples Center Sunday night.

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant are at it again, confounding celebrity watchers about their status. With their divorce ready to be final in June, Kobe and Vanessa were spotted on a very public outing once again. Link to photos posted below. TMZ.com reports that the Bryants are "really good friends" at this point in time.

Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce in December 2011 and by the time it became public, the financial settlement and child custody-support terms were all but agreed to.

The details that were made public listed Vanessa as gaining primary physical custody of Gianna and Natalia and the deed to three homes in Southern California were put in her name.

In addition to that, Kobe Bryant had to split his assets with his wife because they married in April 2001 without a prenuptial agreement. With California being a community property state, the spouses are entitled to split all income earned during the term of the marriage.

It was only two years later that their lives changed forever when Kobe Bryant was accused of raping a hotel employee in Colorado. The case was ultimately dropped when the alleged victim would not cooperate and testify at a trial.

Kobe admitted a consensual infidelity, with Vanessa at his side during a press conference, but according to those inside sources who feed the celebrity web sites, Kobe has not refrained from dabbling in the same behavior since that time.

It is the second time the Bryants have been seen together at the Staples Center since the divorce was filed. It was almost two months ago to the day, on Valentine's Day that Vanessa, wearing red for the occasion took her usual seat at the Lakers game against the Atlanta Hawks. Read that full story, here.

Her smiling face was very visible to the crowd at the arena and of course, to television audiences tuning into the contest. To add to the thrill of it all, Vanessa was allowed access to the tunnel leading from the court to the Lakers locker room, as she always had.

That was where Kobe Bryant bent down to plant a kiss on her as all of L.A. sat mesmerized at the possibility of a reunion. Since then the Bryants have kept a low profile but it is clear that the parents of two daughters ages nine and five are spending quality family time together.

Earlier that day, the Lakers without Kobe Bryant won a hard fought overtime game against the reigning NBA champs, the Dallas Mavericks. That story, here. In a matter of three hours, the Staples Center was transformed from a basketball arena to a hockey rink.

Bryant has sat out the last five games the Lakers played with a badly bruised shin tendon that can only heal with rest. For Kobe Bryant to sit out any game with an injury is a rare occurrence. The man has played with dislocated fingers, torn ligaments in his wrist, ankles that never seem to heal and a set of bad knees.

He was shut down ahead of the NBA playoffs which will be upon us in less than two weeks. The team is a surprising and satisfying 4-1 during his absence and the rise of Andrew Bynum as the team's main scoring option has developed quickly.
