Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' husband, U.S. astronaut Mark Kelly issued a statement this weekend that included suggestions for those that want to send money and tributes to his wife.

Kelly indicated that the American Red Cross and the Tucson Community Food Bank are charitable organizations that Gabby "valued and supported." For those that are interested, here is the contact information.

Community Food Bank
3003 S Country Club Rd # 221
Tucson, AZ 85713-4084
(520) 622-0525

American Red Cross, Southern Arizona Chapter
2916 East Broadway Boulevard
Tucson, AZ 85716

Kelly made certain to direct attention to those whose lives were lost as a result of their attendance at his wife's community outreach event. It should not be forgotten that a member of her personal staff perished, a sitting federal judge as well as senior citizens and a nine year old girl born on September 11, 2011. Child slain, interested in government.

Mark Kelly, a Navy captain also happens to be commander of the space shuttle Endeavor. He is scheduled for a mission in April that will take him to the International Space Station, to deliver what is called "an elaborate physics experiment by a Nobel Prize winner."

It is expected that this will be the final shuttle flight and Kelly is in the midst of preparations for his mission. At the moment, it is unclear if his wife's condition will prevent him from his schedule launch. A NASA spokesman issued this statement regarding Commander Kelly's dilemma:

"It is premature to speculate on any of this. For now, the focus is on supporting Mark and Scott, and things need to be taken day by day, and all thoughts are with the victims." Scott Kelly, Mark's twin is also a Navy captain, former test pilot and is currently on the Space Station, scheduled to return to earth in March.
