Romney's new attacks on Newt question his stability

Mitt Romney is hitting back at Newt Gingrich's attacks on his corporate background with the help of GOP members in person and via online advertising.

John Sununu will be on the stump in South Carolina in support of Mitt Romney. Politico reported that the former New Hampshire governor and chief-of-staff to President Bush 41, is ready to repeat his previous criticism of Newt Gingrich.

Sununu called Gingrich, "anti-free enterprise", reported Andrew Breitbart's political blog site BigGovernment.com. With the assault launched on Mitt Romney's career at Bain Capital last week, Sununu sees that part of Newt coming to the fore.

In the same comments John Sununu criticized the Super Pac behind Gingrich, calling the man at the helm, Sheldon Adelson for supporting an anti-business tinged campaign.

Also on board the Mitt Romney train in the final days of the So. Carolina primary campaign are two former members of Congress who worked under and with Speaker Gingrich during his tenure at the helm of the House of Representatives.

Update: Marianne Gingrich tells ABC News that Gingrich asked her for an "open marriage" arrangement.

Sununu, according to Politico.com joins former Rep.Susan Molinari and former Senator Jim Talent in harkening back to the days when Newt Gingrich was ousted from his post by his fellow Republicans.

"Leadership by chaos," is how the former N.Y. Congresswoman characterized Gingrich's style, which she says contributed to the reelection of President Bill Clinton in 1996. Video of Molinari ad for Romney posted below.

Sununu began his criticism last month when he said, “Tom Coburn, Susan Molinari, Mickey Edwards – all these folks that were part of his inner circle, who watched him on a daily basis, said, ‘Enough is enough, this man is not stable.”

Talent pointed to Gingrich's positions in the recent past on Paul Ryan's budget proposal and Iran military surge as detrimental to the cause of the GOP and reasons not to trust him. The former Senator pointed out the obvious flip-flop in Gingrich's position about running attack and negative ads during his campaign.
