
A regular face on Play School since 1985, George Spartels joins the West Australian Symphony Orchestra for some outdoor fun and a sing a long, at Pioneer Women's Memorial, Kings Park & Botanic Garden, on Sunday 4 March, 6pm. Gates open 4pm.
George has forged a successful and varied career outside the Play School family with performances in stage productions of Godspell, Hamlet and Mike Leigh's Greek Tragedy; television appearances in The Great Bookie Robbery and Neighbours and film roles in Mad Max III - Beyond Thunderdome and Kick in 1999.
In addition, George has released albums, a video and performs his own concerts. Over the years George has worked alongside the likes of Play School favourites Noni Hazelhurst and Trish Goddard; but has also shared the limelight with kittens, dogs, ducklings and even a donkey! Sean O'Boyle, Australian composer, conductor, producer, performer and long-time collaborator with George will take the baton for this concert.
Sean and George have received several nominations for an ARIA Award in the category of children's music for the CD George Meets the Orchestra Join the Orchestra, Sean and George as they perform songs from the CD and Play School favourites including Mr Frog, I'm the Conductor, Kazoo Song, Come to the Zoo and the very fitting - Whenever I Hear an Orchestra.
Jumping legs, dancing bodies and a picnic basket are all recommended accessories to fully enjoy this energetic concert in the park suitable for 2 - 6 year old children and their families. Tickets $15.00. -- www.waso.com.au
