The first sighting reportedly shut down a Chinese airport. This was followed by day sightings in Manhattan, New York, and later in El Paso, Texas, all experiencing a taste of the paranormal. Now, Richmond, Virginia, has joined the UFO party with a number of Richmond residents claiming that they saw what appeared to be an unidentified flying object lighting up the night sky.
The Richmond UFO event, which according to reports happened on both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend, included three lights in the shape of a triangle that was seen hovering in certain places for hours on end.
A number of home videos made by residents of Richmond's fan district show the triangularly-arranged lights in the sky with the lights flickering in an unknown sequence.
One resident, identified as Jeff, told CBS 6 that he witnessed the UFO on both Saturday and Sunday evenings and saw three lights in a triangle pattern the first night and a hovering object with just one light the following night.
Multiple UFO sightings during October
The alleged UFO sighting in Richmond, Virginia, is just the latest in a string of sightings that have occurred in various parts of the world.
In early October, it was reported that a UFO popped up near a Chinese airport in Baoutou, Inner Mongolia, forcing a number of flights to be diverted to different airports.
In this particular incident, witnesses claimed that they saw “flashing lights of varying brightness.”
A few weeks later, New York residents of West Side Manhattan were witnesses to a number of silver orbs that were floating through the area.
While some believe that this was indeed a UFO sighting, many now think that the incident was merely a bunch of helium-inflated party balloons that were accidentally released.
Just days after the Manhattan incidence, residents of El Paso, Texas, reported seeing odd lights in the sky.
In this incident, military skydivers, who had magnesium flares on their parachutes, were presumed to be the cause of the odd, flickering lights.
