Ubisoft released the much-anticipated Assassin's Creed 3 trailer this week, giving anxious gamers a glimpse into the incredibly smooth action-packed game that will take place during the American Revolution.
It is also the first video for the game that shows real game play, according to a comment that accompanied the Assassin's Creed III premier trailer: "This is the first gameplay trailer Ubisoft has released for the upcoming sequel to the Assassin's Creed series. Check out the fruits of your "Unite to Unlock" labor in the pre-alpha footage."
In the trailer, the newly minted cloaked killer, Connor Kenway, is shown taking down a bunch of Red Coat-wearing soldiers, easily destroying his competition by using an axe. There is also a number of various creatures that he fights off in the video, showing a new nature element in the game, including a bear.
Assassin's Creed III, which is set for release on October 20, 2012 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and Microsoft Windows, takes place between the years 1753 and 1783, and is expected to include cameos from historical U.S. figures including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and many, many more.
