Get ready to 'Catch a Wave' this summer as The Beach Boys will be reuniting for an extensive North American tour this summer and have released a number of upcoming concert dates.
Fresh off of a 2012 Grammy Awards performance in which they evoked memories of endless summers with a rendition of 'Good Vibrations' with Maroon 5 and Foster The People accompanying them, The Beach Boys have announced a total of 50 concert dates for the group's upcoming summer tour - the first time that Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks have toured together in more than two decades.
Following the group's split in the late 1990's, Love and Johnston have continued to tour under The Beach Boys name, while Wilson toured solo and Al Jardine took part in concerts with the Endless Summer Band; however, they'll be back together for what is expected to be one of the hottest tours this summer and have a new album on the way.
"We haven't played together in a long time," Al Jardine said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "The fans are going to want to hear the hits. But there should also be lesser-known ones that are so important."
Tentatively, The Beach Boys 2012 reunion tour is scheduled to begin with an opening showcase at the Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona on April 24th and will wrap things up at Harvey's Lake Tahoe Amphitheater in Lake Tahoe, Nevada on July 15th. Other notable tour dates for The Beach Boys include concert sets at the New Orleans Jazz Festival on April 27th - where Steel Pulse and Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band are also slated to perform - and a performance at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 10th.
