Jane's Addiction announces new summer tour dates, concert venues

Jane's Addiction's 2012 tour will continue on into the summer after the band revealed plans for a series of additional concert date.

Currently in the midst of an ongoing North American tour, frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Chris Chaney appear poised to continue on in their rock blaze across the U.S. this summer after announcing a series of additional show dates that will begin in August.

The newly-announced series of shows will begin in Cleveland, OH with a concert at Jacobs Pavilion on August 6th. The band will make a number of notable stops in big-name cities, including Brooklyn, NY on August 17th, Pittsburgh, PA on August 22nd and Portland, OR on September 4th. Jane's Addiction's tour is expected to wrap up with a final show at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV on September 5th.

And Jane's Addiction won't be going down the road alone, as there are a number of accompanying acts who will join them on the road, including sets by Mutemath, Band of Skulls and Die Antword.

The ongoing tour is in support of the alternative rockers' fourth and latest studio album, 'The Great Escape Artist'. Released in October under the Capitol Records label, the album was Jane's Addiction's first since 2008 and is described by Farrell as "a strange mixture of that post-punk Goth darkness that Jane's had."

Since its release, 'The Great Escape Artist' has received generally mixed reviews, while debuted at No.12 on the Billboard 200 chart after selling approximately 24,000 copies in its first week of release.
