Lady Gaga, Nelly Furtado collaborating with Elton John on Disney soundtrack

In anticipation of its release of the 3D animated film Gnomeo & Juliet, Disney has reeled in a star-studded lineup of musicians to tackle the movie's soundtrack, including pop icons Elton John and Lady Gaga.

The Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack will be comprised of some of Elton John's greatest hits and will include duets and renditions performed by pop singers Lady Gaga and Nelly Furtado.

Lady Gaga will collaborate on a reprisal of the song “Hello, Hello,” while Furtado will assist in another Elton John classic for the film, “Crocodile Rock.”

Other Elton John songs found on the Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack include “Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting,” “Don't Go Breaking My Heart,” “Love Builds a Garden,” “Your Song,” Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer and “Bennie and the Jets.”

The soundtrack will also include a number of new original songs scored by the legendary composer James Newton Howard, who has worked on the soundtracks for music classics such as Major League, Pretty Woman, My Best Friend's Wedding, Salt and the recently released film starring actor/comedian Seth Rogen, The Green Hornet.

Gnome & Juliet is a re-invention of the classic William Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet, but instead of a tragedy featuring two young loves, the film features a pair of garden gnomes entwined in forbidden love.

James McAvoy, known for his roles in Atonement, The Chronicles of Narnia series and The Last King of Scotland, will provide the voice of the character Gnomeo, while My Summer of Love and The Devil Wears Prada star, Emily Blunt, will play the part of Juliet Capulet.

The Kelly Asbury-directed film is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 11, 2010, while the Gnomeo & Juliet soundtrack will be available three days before the film's release on February 8.
