In a totally hilarious troll move aimed at poking a little fun at the supposedly Hasbro-inspired board game flick, "Battleship," some inspired filmmakers came up with the brilliant idea of creating an official trailer video for, get this, "Tetris: The Movie."

Yes, you're beloved falling blocks, puzzle video game got the trailer treatment in recent days, only it's a bit more catastrophic than you might think. In the "Tetris: The Movie" teaser trailer, the video depicts various Tetris blocks falling form the sky and landing throughout New York City (mayhem!).

A narrator at the start of the film calls it an "extinction level event," and there's also some guy who claims he is a messenger who was there at the beginning (beginning of what? I have no idea). The trailer ends with a bang with Tetris blocks raining down in droves and than spontaneously combusting. Wow, just wow. Happy Friday, you guys. Check out the video for "Tetris: The Movie" below.

A message that accompanied the nearly minute-and-a-half video shed some light on the "Tetris: The Movie":

"Official Tetris Teaser Trailer. The invasion is beginning. It is inevitable. You created them, you can destroy them! I did not create Tetris, I was but the messenger. Tell me how to stop them. This is an extinction level event. No, don't go! Let her go!

If Battleship gets its own movie, why not Tetris?

Thanks to Richard Williams (http://www.youtube.com/bufjap) for the sick trailer music!

Thanks to Mont Toronto for makeup and sound!! And Noelle Houston for her acting skills!

Be sure to check out our behind the scenes channel for insights on how we do what we do!

If enough people watch this, we will seriously make this into a movie."

I sure hope they do. C'mon internetz, let's aid them in their quest for a Tetris movie, because if Battleship can get one, WHY NOT TETRIS?
