Ubisoft teases gamers with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Alpha Trailer [VIDEO]

Ubisoft is having fun with the buildup surrounding the upcoming latest installment in the Tom Clancy video game series, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The game company released a trailer for a tie-in prequel film that will usher in the new title.

The idea of a movie prequel tie-in is a novel one, if not a very, very awesome idea. Adding to its appeal is the fact that Academy Award winners Herve de Crecy and Fracois Alaux have been tasked to direct the short, while the screenplay for the 25-minute film was written by Academy Award nominee Tim Sexton.

Giving us a glimpse into what to expect on Monday, May 14th, when the film debuts online, Ubisoft released a trailer for the Ghost Recon Alpha in recent days, which you can watch at the bottom of the page.

Per a previous release detailing the connection between th upcoming Ghost Recon Alpha prequel film and the game itself:

Ghost Recon Alpha is deeply connected with the video game, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

  • Characters: The main four characters in the movie are the same four playable characters in the video game.
  • Storyline: The movie takes place immediately before a key turning point in the video game?s storyline, a vicious attack against a major European city.

  • Location: the location where the movie takes place will be one of the multiplayer maps available in the adversarial mode of the video game.

  • Exclusive unlock: a secret code is also hidden in the movie, enabling access via Ghost Recon Network to an exclusive weapon unlock playable in Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
