'Watch the Throne': Jay-Z, Kanye West join forces for album, concert tour

Two of hip-hops greatest performers and biggest icons, Jay-Z and Kanye West, have announced that they have joined forces to form the group “The Throne” and will for a concert series to promote their new collaborative album, Watch the Throne.

The secret collaboration has been over a year in the making, with Jay-Z and Kanye West going around the world to places such as London, Abu Dhabi, Sydney, Paris and New York City, and includes production and vocals from the RZA, The Neptunes, Mike Dean, Frank Ocean, Beyonce, Curtis Mayfield and Mr. Hudson.

While the Watch the Throne album is not scheduled for release until August 12th (August 8th on iTunes), the record's first single, 'Otis', a tribute by Jay-Z and Kanye West to the late Otis Redding, was hailed as a masterpiece and was called “the most well-executed rap song of the year” by Entertainment Weekly after hitting the radio waves on July 20th.

A total of 24 North American tour dates have been so far for the Watch the Throne tour, with a potential for more dates to be added down the line.

The Throne duo will hit the stage for the Watch the Throne tour starting in Detroit, Michigan at the Palace of Auburn Hills on September 22nd and the concert series is scheduled to conclude in Boston, Massachusets at the TD Garden on November 3rd.

Tickets for the Watch the Throne tour will begin pre-selling on LiveNation.com/watchthethrone on July 28th. Fans who purchase a presale ticket will receive a digital copy of Jay-Z and Kanye's new album.

Citi card members will also have an opportunity to purchase presale tickets for the Watch the Throne Tour beginning on July 29th at 10 a.m. local time through citiprivatepass.com.
