She's over six feet tall, and rarely wears a lot of clothes. Automatically, all eyes are on her wherever she goes. Until she sits at a table in a fancy restaurant with a group of women who've learned long ago that sex appeal is a strong second to intelligence, not to mention a good man.
So why did Brandi feel the need to gossip about Adrienne like she's some old age Dharun Ravi who just discovered his roommate is gay? Brandi's gossip about Adrienne is nothing more than her attempt to gain popularity on television and with the other housewives. A group that had strong reservations about Brandi last season because of her mouth, her dress, and her behavior.
If ever there was solid proof of the strong resistance to Brandi Glanville by the likes of Kyle, Adrienne and Taylor, yesterday's episode proved it. Gossip, even the slightest hint of it, sent Camille and Taylor's friendship flying out and off into the Pacific. Moreover, Camille's chatter about Taylor was an attempt to help Taylor, not bash Taylor.
But Brandi is all about bashing. And that's unreal because things were going well for Brandi. She had a great photo shoot, a book deal, hard copy moreover. Yet in all of Brandi's new found success, fortune and good luck, Brandi lacks graciousness.
The primary difference between the women of Beverly Hills and any other housewives series is that the women here are not vain, despite their wealth. They do not brag, even while they flaunt, and they are never ungrateful or without thanks for the luxuries that surround them, and moreover make them.
Brandi however, is a different story. She's not Beverly Hills crazy rich as she reminds audiences in the confessionals. She's already admitted to using prescription pills and mixing them with alcohol. She resents flat ironed hair, and prefers her curly, and a tad unsophisticated, earth child hairstyles.
She's living it up in Beverly Hills and on the steps of the House of Making it Huge, and then does something small, petulant, and cruel. Whatever the gossip and personal business of Adrienne's family Brandi leaked, it was unnecessary. Especially unnecessary if Kim felt the need to spill the beans.
Kim Richards doesn't have a foot in any camp the way the rest of the housewives do. Kim Richards has no allegiances, just a drive for sobriety and the clean living and healthy thinking that sobriety entails and demands.
What does it say about Brandi that she didn't think any of the women would rat her out to Adrienne?
Brandi's a bit out of touch with reality, or maybe she's exacting revenge on the group of Housewives who alienated her terribly last season while she was defenseless and in crutches.
Still, as cruel as Brandi's gossip was, Adrienne's husband was a real clown for acknowledging it. If it is that bad, why not hit her with a lawsuit and smile in her face in between time? Revenge is a dish best served cold. Not passionately hot, boiling and outright messy.
Thumbs down for the Adrienne and her husband. They were terrible guests at Mauricio's party, thus proving Lisa Vanderpump right again--at this moment in time, it's not a good idea to be around either Adrienne or her husband. And Adrienne, by the way, complained to her husband that he was pushing her as they walked into the J.W. Marriott where Mauricio was hosting his real estate agency party.
It would be nice to know what is really up with Adrienne and Paul's relationship. But it's clear that Adrienne is not sharing her real life with audiences. It's a personal decision, but quite frankly, other housewives have filmed while their children were being arrested, getting tattooed, using drugs, or drinking alcohol underage. There isn't much that a reality family undergoes that the rest of America hasn't witnessed, experienced, or sympathized with at some point or another.
And besides, there is nothing worse than when a Housewives series reaches the end of the season, only to reveal to audiences that they've kept a big secret from the fans. . For example, Jacqueline Laurita's trials with her son's autism diagnosis was devastating for her family, but more than likely an experience that thousands more of American women were experiencing at the time, not the mention the many millions more who've already endured it.
Coping with an autism diagnosis could have been television teaching moment, but the Lauritas decided not to share.
Audiences know after years of watching Housewives that when Housewives aren't real with themselves, they become fake to their friends and unlikable. And that's a shame because last season, Adrienne was super cool.
Take Home Message:
Bullies are intolerable, yet they come in all shapes, ages and sizes. Brandi Glanville's behavior is that of a bully, consequently, she isn't likable or respectable. Her Twitter spats with her husband's newest wife Leann Rimes is old and childish.
Yet, everyone can change and Brandi has until the rest of the season to prove that she's not a puppet or a body guard for Lisa Vanderpump. Nothing transpired on camera for audiences to feel that Brandi has a right to go after Adrienne.
If Adrienne is as publicity smart and cunning as New Jersey's Teresa Giudice, Brandi may want to pack her bags and head for some other set of hills.
