This past week at the SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, iCookbook walked away with an Appy Award for best cooking app.
It's the second year in a row that iCookbook has won Media Post's Appy Award. The Appys are among the most prominent app awards in the industry. The awards acknowledge creativity and excellence in app designs across mobile, social and web-based platforms. The app has been around since 2011.
"We are blown away to win this award again. My hat is off to the other apps we compete with and we are humbled to know that other people love our app as much as we do," said Jerry Croft, President of Cooking & Digital Media at Publications International, Ltd. "All of the people here involved with iCookbook™ work very hard to try and provide the best cooking app for the everyday Chef," Croft added. "Winning this prestigious award validates that effort."
Publications International Ltd, a leading publisher of brand name cookbooks, publishes and sells over 9 million cookbooks each year. The iCookbook app is available for iOs, Android, Amazon and Windows 8 devices. Affordable meal options, more than 2,100 recipes handpicked by a team of food experts, and easy navigation for everyday cooks are a few of iCookbook app's bragging rights.
The iCookbook™ app is also filled with user-friendly features to streamline the entire cooking process such as: advanced filters to search for recipes based by theme, ingredient, cuisine, brand (Hershey's®, Campbell's®, Crock-Pot® etc.), full color images with every recipe, the ability to create shopping lists, watch how-to videos, share recipes with friends and family via Facebook and email, and even access articles, conversion charts, measurement tools and more. There are more than 2,000 recipes available at iCookbook.
Every month iCookbook™ also releases a FREE recipe pack with great timely recipes for its users to download. Special themed premium recipe collections such as Paleo Recipes, a Heart Healthy collection from Go Red for Women®, and traditional Irish Foods perfect for a St. Patrick's Day party are also available for purchase via the iCookbook™ in-app store.
iCookbook launched in 2011 and was Publications International's first digital cookbook.
