Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: the hoof in Maloof's mouth

If the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s South African penthouse spat was bad, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ reunion spats aren’t much better.

In Atlanta, or South Africa, newcomer and soon to be goner Marlo Hampton unleashed a fury of jealousy over Sheree Whitfield. Marlo cracked on Sheree’s looks, and from the sound of it, Sheree may not have responded to that. But hands down, Sheree didn’t look at all like the lunatic Marlo did during Sunday night’s Real Housewives of Atlanta episode.

Marlo will probably go in for cosmetic surgery within the next year. Atlien celeb reality characters tend to see cosmetic surgeons rather than psychotherapists. Especially after they’ve behaved really ugly on Bravo cameras.

On the opposite end of the continent are the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ reunion. Surprisingly, every single one of them, except Taylor, has jealousy issues with Lisa. Adrienne couldn’t get her Maloof hoof out of her mouth fast enough at the reunion.

Adrienne accused Lisa of taking money for a story Adrienne believed Lisa “sold” to RadarOnline. Even though Adrienne’s a business woman and a shoe mogul, the accusation is ridiculous. Lisa was offended. She said she’d get over it, but she was wounded because she’s pretty wealthy and wouldn’t need $100 for a story.

Adrienne said the story garnered Mrs. Vanderpump a weighty $25,000. That’s hilarious. Andy Cohen should have laughed Adrienne out of her seat for that. Totally mortifying about Adrienne’s accusation is how long and hard Adrienne held onto the word of Lisa’s so-called friend, rather than believe Lisa who was right in front of her pleading with Adrienne to be reasonable.

It’s hard to say what’s up with Adrienne other than she is (still) bitter about Pandora’s Planet Hollywood party. She and Lisa are by far the two most mature cast members—mature in behavior, that is. Especially when compared with the gossipy, two-faced Kyle, the flimsy Taylor and sharp tongued Camille.

Adrienne apologized sincerely. But it may have been too late. And Lisa and Adrienne are no longer neighbors-Lisa and Ken moved away.

The BH housewives dislike Lisa’s caustic remarks. But audiences love it. Lisa’s funny and witty without being catty---that’s a lot more than any of the other women can say---except perhaps Adrienne.

Part one of the reunion found Camille adamantly opposed to airing the episode where Camille flatly told Taylor to be honest. Where Camille told cameras that Russell used Taylor like a punching bag, mop, dishrag and worse.

Camille said she didn’t think the episode should be aired because of Russell’s children. Adrienne, the voice of reason said that people needed the episode because it’s a valuable learning experience.

Agreed.

But hindsight is 20/20. Who can forget that Adrienne and the rest of the women, except Lisa, insisted Taylor was equally responsible for Russell's threatening email to Camille.

At Kyle’s White Party, Lisa insisted that Taylor likely was unaware Russell sent such an email. Next week, Taylor will rip Brandi apart for spreading the lie.

Kyle said something last night that made sense. She said Lisa is smart and intimidating. What Kyle probably meant is shrewd and calculating. But we’ll take it since Kyle is neither smart nor intimidating.

Overall, the first round of spats at Beverly Hills is deep. Borderline irreconcilable.

As far as that Marlo Hampton is concerned, the Bravo photographs released of the RHOA in SA block Marlo’s face. That argument was the one time directors should have screamed “Cut.”

It’s not likely Marlo will be cast in either of the two new slots expected to open in Atlanta. With Kandi and Kim starring in new shows, Bravo’s hiring.

Keshia Knight-Pulliam, an actress Andy Cohen adores, is rumored for a slot.
