Is Kyle wrong for prodding her sister Kim while Kim is clearly troubled?
A number of Bravo fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are pointing to Kyle's behavior on the beach in Hawaii as proof of Kyle's mean girl demeanor. Not everyone thinks there is any point confronting Kim while she's in this state. Most feel that while Kim is sick, the best thing to do is let her be. Some fans say attacking Kim on the beach at dinner in front of everyone is proof of Kyle's love for drama.
That maybe. But Kyle and Lisa hopping over balconies to wake up Kim was good fun.
Lisa told Kyle over and over to "accept" Kim. While the show filmed over the summer, Kyle and the rest of the cast could only guess or assume that drugs or alcohol were responsible for Kim's behavior. But during the season, thus far, Kim hasn't drank much. Taylor has Kim beat by a long shot as far as drunken rages go. Kim spent half the night of a party in and out of the bathroom.
But Kyle was with her.
There is no proof that Kim is a drug abuser. And Kyle can't approach the elephant in the room because the elephant, as big and as heavy as it is, is invisible. Until Kim starts talking.
And the unfortunate aspect of Kim's confessionals is that every word that comes out of her mouth feels like nothing. Audiences can't trust her and her words have no meaning. Many have flat out called Kim Richards and embarrassment and have called for her exit.
What's certain is that Kyle and Mauricio will proceed throughout Season 2 of the Beverly Hills Housewives with Kim as is. On a real timeline, she didn't enter rehab until after filming and well after Russell Armstrong's suicide. Kyle recently tweeted a photo of her and Kim. Kim looked healthy and happy, for the record.
On a positive note, the wives and husbands in Hawaii is a fun watch in mid-January. Lisa's ogling over Brandi's body is more proof of Lisa's good nature. Brandi actually stands a chance with the business women of the cast because she's funny and free. It's fun to see Adrienne and Paul connect.
And there are snakes in Hawaii, but they're little snakes that look more like worms. The reason people say they are no snakes in Hawaii is because the governments spends lots of bucks fighting invasive species on the island, including snakes. An infestation could wreak havoc on the island and as far as tourist money goes, that would be bad. An ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure.
Speaking of cures, Taylor's being left out of a white party and a trip to Hawaii is enough. Russell's out of the house and Taylor has a chat with Dana over really good salmon, spinach and mushrooms. But the previews show Taylor next week with a black eye.
And while there's little doubt in my mind that Taylor's an abused wife, I shudder to think about her being on the receiving end of anything Russell throws her way. Primarily because Taylor strikes me as fragile, thin or just plain bony.
All in all, I'm with those RHOBH fans who think Kim is a royal mess and she should leave. It's a bit much not to have a straight answer for why you missed a plane. It's even worse to drag Ken into it. For all we know, Ken a great, clean, honest, hardworking and respectable man. But his relationship with Kim casts real doubts. Hopefully Ken will show up at the reunion. Then he can answer if he was aware of whether or not Kim was in need of help when they met.
He's voluntarily taken up lying for Kim, but why he's done that isn't so clear. Kim could have fed him a sob story about how her sister Kyle is nagging and annoying and a real big mean snob who won't like his blue collar lifestyle or demeanor. (Eve Arden facial anyone?)
But anyway. It has to get better for the RHOBH crew. If Pandora's wedding doesn't come up soon, I may have to start blogging about the ATL housewives. NeNe, Marlo and the $25,000 pair of earrings that NeNe left standing where she found them.
