But in the meantime, there are several middle-aged issues that fans of Vicki have to muddle through. Vicki got sick and was hemorrhaging in the hospital during the first ever viewing of Alexis’s fashion couture clothing line.
Peggy doesn’t think the clothes are couture enough to be called couture. Tamra, who wears minis all of the time, thinks the dresses are too short. Fernanda, who loves everything thinks the clothes are great, and Gretchen, who loves Alexis, thinks Vicki shouldn’t have gone to the hospital on the day of Alexis’s fashion premiere.
Alexis welcomed all comments about the clothing as long as they were written on the menu. But the pen doesn’t work and Peggy is complaining and Alexis tells her to commit her thoughts to memory. Gretchen didn’t need a pen and paper for her comments. Alexis billed her sundress maxis as the perfect attire for a walk in a park. Gretchen loudly declares that only Alexis would wear that dress to a park.
Actually, Alexis wears jogging pants and tank tops at the park. But never mind. Alexis confesses that her fashion show is a flop. She’s not saying if the show is a flop because the clothes didn’t go over well or because Tamra spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone texting Vicki who was in the hospital.
Vicki and Donn’s tragic relationship has been played out before Bravo cameras. It seems to two don’t get along at all. Vicki can’t take a drink without crying about Donn. Any girl that can’t down her pinot grigio without getting teary-eyed needs a divorce. Ask Ramona Singer, she can down ten glasses of her own pinot grigio in one episode and not bat an eye, a tear or a kind word.
And so the Orange County episode ends with Gretchen tearing at Vicki. Gretchen feels Vicki can’t be happy for anyone else and always has to make an event about her instead of allowing others to have the spotlight. Alexis tore into Vicki last year while Vicki wasn’t doing much other than being Vicki. So it’s a little strange that now, suddenly after she and Jim have hit a rough financial patch, that Alexis is rattled that Vicki isn't there to support her business efforts. After six seasons of OC and Vicki, one thing we know is that she's really not too forgiving. Donn probably knows more about that, but he and she are ideological twins.
And while the Vicki divorce drama and the Alexis Couture story lines are mild to moderately interesting, Gretchen concedes that she’s madly in love with Slade Smiley aka Tubba Wubba. Tubba Wubba needs a shave, a manicure and a good jog, but Gretchen loves him anyway and she wants to have a baby with him.
So Gretchen says. But it seems that Gretchen conveniently puts herself in situations with men that, at the end of the day, are fruitless. The relationship with Jeff, no matter how sincere, how loving, how authentic was a relationship that wouldn’t bear her children. Her relationship with Slade Smiley, Gretchen is aware, is one that shouldn’t bear her children.
Next week, Tamra finally stands up to Jeanna Keough. Jenna’s departure from the Housewives many seasons ago wasn’ t really clear. OC fans either loved her or hated her. But it’s rumored she’s dating Simon Barney although she says their just good friends.
Jeanna gets pushed at the pull party and chased off the property. Keough reportedly was upset with producers for allowing the physical violence to happen, even though she physically threatened Tamra first. Jeanna and her children were all physical, and Jeanna occasionally threatened her daughter with physical violence as well.
Either way, as long as our girl Tamra doesn’t get beat up during the confrontation with big Jeanna, next week’s OC finale is bound to be a blast.
