CME Announces Annual Corporate Officer Promotions

CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, today announced the promotions of 23 employees as officers of the company. The following promotions are effective Feb. 18.

Richard Chandler, 45, Promoted to Managing Director, Front-End Systems Technology

Chandler is responsible for all CME front-end technology applications. He oversees the CME iLink connection to the CME Globex electronic trading platform, as well as exchange market data, price reporting, Internet, eCommerce, quality assurance and wireless trading floor technology groups. Chandler reports to Managing Director & Deputy Chief Information Officer Kevin Kometer and previously served as Director, Front-End Systems. Before joining CME in 2001, he acquired over 27 years of experience in the information technology industry. He held leadership positions for SilverStream Software, Inc., Learning Resources, ReferNET and The Bradford Exchange. He began his career working for GE. Chandler attended the College of DuPage.

James Farrell, 40, Promoted to Managing Director, Match Engine Development

Farrell is responsible for the development and integration of CME electronic trading systems' matching engine and surveillance tools. He also oversees day-to-day support for CME production, quality assurance and development systems, including support for NYMEX and COMEX products on CME Globex and CME's 50/50 joint venture with Reuters, FXMarketSpaceâ„¢. Farrell reports to Managing Director & Deputy Chief Information Officer Kevin Kometer and previously served as Director, Match Engine Development. He joined CME in 1987 and has held positions of increasing responsibility since that time. He attended the University of Illinois.

John K. Hart, 42, Promoted to Managing Director, Technology Engineering

Hart is responsible for CME's technical infrastructure and support systems. He reports to CME Managing Director & Chief Information Officer James R. Krause and previously served as Director, Technology Engineering. Before joining CME in 1996, Hart managed technical services for First Options, a Chicago clearing firm. He also held technology roles at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Fossett Securities Corporation, Businessland, and Compco Computers. He is a member of the Sprint Communications Finance and Investing executive board and a member of the Hewlett Packard/Tandem Executive Council. Hart earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management and electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and an MBA degree from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

Julie Holzrichter, 38, Promoted to Managing Director, CME Globex Services & Technology Integration

Holzrichter is responsible for the CME Globex Control Center (GCC), the first point of contact for CME Globex customer support. She also oversees GCC project management, CME Globex connectivity services and certification environments and quality assurance, as well as trading floor technology. Holzrichter reports to CME Managing Director, Operations Maz Chadid and previously served as Director, CME Globex Services and Technology Integration. She rejoined CME in 2006 after spending 17 years at CME in market and trading operations.

Kevin Kometer, 42, Promoted to Managing Director & Deputy Chief Information Officer

Kometer is responsible for the development and quality management of CME trading systems for both options and futures trading, both on the trading floor and on the CME Globex platform. He reports to CME Managing Director & Chief Information Officer James R. Krause and previously served as Managing Director, Trade Execution Systems. Before joining CME in 1994, he held technology roles at The Board of Trade Clearing Corporation and Continental Bank. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science and math from Northern Illinois University.

Anita S. Liskey, 42, Promoted to Managing Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications

Liskey is responsible for managing corporate marketing and communications efforts to promote the CME brand with key constituents worldwide. She reports to CME CEO Craig S. Donohue and previously served as Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications. Before joining CME in 2002, Liskey held communications leadership roles for T. Rowe Price Group, Wells Fargo & Co., and the Chicago Board of Trade. She also held account management roles at Financial Shares Corp. and Manning, Selvage & Lee. Liskey earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University.

Joseph Panfil, 44, Promoted to Managing Director, Enterprise Technology Services

Panfil is responsible for CME computer operations, distributed computing and information security areas, as well as the company's change control and risk evaluation processes. He reports to CME Managing Director & Chief Information Officer James R. Krause and previously served as Director, Enterprise Technology Services. Before joining CME in 1997, he held information technology roles at First Options, Tradelink and Rich Inc. He earned a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology from Purdue University.

Hilda Harris Piell, 39, Promoted to Managing Director & Senior Associate General Counsel

Piell is responsible for reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts for commercial transactions on CME's behalf, with an emphasis on contracts for the acquisition of stock or assets from third parties, joint ventures with other industry participants and product development initiatives. She reports to CME Managing Director, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary Kathleen Cronin and previously served as CME Director & Associate General Counsel. Before joining CME in 2000, Piell served as an attorney for MCI Worldcom, Inc. and Jenner & Block and a law clerk for the Honorable Ruben Castillo in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Piell earned a bachelor's degree, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

Laurie Czolgosz Bischel, 30, Promoted to Director, Internal Branding & Communications

Bischel is responsible for all internal communications, for engaging CME employees in the CME brand and for leveraging the proven linkage between employee engagement, brand power and financial results. She reports to CME Managing Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications Anita S. Liskey and previously served as Associate Director, Internal Branding & Communications. Before joining CME in 2001, she worked in public affairs and communications for AMSTED Industries. She also has taught business writing in both traditional and virtual classrooms at Purdue University. Bischel earned a bachelor's degree in English and history from Marquette University and a master's degree in English from Purdue.

Bo Chambliss, 30, Promoted to Director, Government Relations

Chambliss is responsible for leading efforts to formulate and implement CME's legislative and regulatory agendas, acting as the main liaison between CME and government officials in Washington. He reports to CME CEO Craig S. Donohue and previously served as Associate Director, Government Relations. Before joining CME in 2004, Chambliss served as Associate General Counsel of the CFTC. He received his bachelor's degree from Mercer University and his J.D. degree from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law.

Francis J. Cote, 55, Promoted to Director, Tandem Technical Services

Cote is responsible for the performance, maintenance, installation and support of CME's Tandem computers and corresponding applications. He reports to CME Managing Director, Technology Engineering John K. Hart and previously served as Associate Director, Tandem Technical Services. Before joining CME in 1998, Cote served in technology roles for Alliance Software, Tandem Computers, IBM and the AB Dick Company. Cote attended DeVry University and DePaul University.

Michael P. Duff, 35, Promoted to Director, Front-End Systems Technology

Duff is responsible for the oversight of CME order entry applications, customer documentation, metrics, monitoring and analysis. He reports to CME Director, Front-End Systems Technology Mark Ainis and previously served as Associate Director, Front-End Systems Technology. Before joining CME in 2003, Duff worked as a technology consultant and systems architect for a variety of Chicago clients. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Illinois.

Andrew Durrant, 46, Promoted to Director, Foreign Exchange Products - Europe

Durrant is responsible for promoting CME's FX products and markets to European customers, increasing market share and product uptake across all customer segments. He reports to CME Managing Director, Foreign Exchange Derek Sammann and previously held the position of Associate Director, Foreign Exchange Products-Europe. Before joining CME in 2005, Durrant worked in global FX markets through Option Computers Ltd. and through the FX desks at Daiwa Securities, Westpac Banking Corporation, Fuji Bank and Irving Trust/ Bank of New York. Durrant earned a degree in social science (economics) from the Open University.

David Lerman, 50, Promoted to Director, Equity Products and Services

Lerman promotes CME's equity product group primarily with institutional users, such as pension plan sponsors and money managers. He reports to CME Managing Director, Hedge Funds and Broker Services Tina Lemieux and previously served as Associate Director, Equity Products & Services. Prior to joining CME in 1988, Lerman was a member at the Chicago Board of Trade. He also worked at Zavanelli Portfolio Research. Lerman earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Chicago. He also is the author of Exchange Traded Funds and E-mini Stock Index Futures (John Wiley & Sons).

Jim Messer, 42, Promoted to Director, Network Services

Messer is responsible for the design, implementation and support of CME local area networks, wide area networks, wireless networks and network management infrastructure. He reports to CME Managing Director, Technology Engineering John K. Hart and previously served as Associate Director, Network Services. Before joining CME in 1995, he held a variety of technology-related positions at First Chicago and the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation. He attended DePaul University.

Donna Nehila, 38, Promoted to Director, Match Engine Development

Nehila is responsible for managing all development efforts for EAGLE, the primary CME Globex match engine which is the centerpiece of electronic trading at CME. She reports to CME Managing Director, Match Engine Development James Farrell and previously served as Associate Director, Systems Development. Before joining CME in 1999, Nehila worked as a clerk for an independent trader, as well as brokerage groups KPS Investments and T. Christopher Phillips. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA degree in management information systems from DePaul University.

William Parke, Promoted to Director, Corporate Marketing & Financial Communications

Parke is responsible for corporate marketing, advertising and financial communications, and serves as executive speechwriter for CME senior leaders. He reports to CME Managing Director, Corporate Marketing & Communications Anita S. Liskey and previously served as Associate Director, Corporate Marketing & Financial Communications. Before joining CME in 2004, Parke was Director of Financial Communications for Motorola. Earlier he held similar positions at Sears Roebuck and Ameritech, where he was responsible for corporate brand advertising, media relations, public affairs and speechwriting. Parke serves on the boards of the Chicago chapters of the Business Marketing Association and the National Investor Relations Institute. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Northwestern University.

Vince Ramirez, 50, Promoted to Director, Regulatory & Administrative Systems

Ramirez oversees CME's regulatory compliance and exchange fee systems. He reports to CME Director, Technology Phil Papesh and previously held the position of Associate Director, Regulatory & Administrative Systems. Ramirez joined CME in 1979. He has attended the Chicago City Colleges and the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Richard Romeo, 44, Promoted to Director, Accounting and Budgets

Romeo is responsible for oversight of CME's financial planning, management reporting, exchange fee system and billing processes. He reports to CME Managing Director and Chief Accounting Officer Nancy Goble and previously served as Associate Director, Accounting and Budgets. Before joining CME in 2004, Romeo held finance roles at Household International and Ameritech. Romeo, a CPA, earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Rosary College and an MBA degree from Northern Illinois University.

David Salvadori, 43, Promoted to Director, Corporate Program Office

Salvadori is responsible for steering the successful execution of CME electronic options trading initiatives. He reports to CME Director, Corporate Program Office Michael March and previously served as Associate Director, Corporate Program Office. Before joining CME in 2000, Salvadori headed electronic trading market supervision at the Chicago Board of Trade and managed a trading desk at First Chicago. He earned both a bachelor's degree in business commerce and an MBA degree from DePaul University.

David Schulz, 50, Promoted to Director, CME Foreign Exchange Products

Schulz is responsible for developing relationships with global foreign exchange (FX) market participants to increase global trading of CME FX products. He reports to CME Managing Director, Foreign Exchange Derek Sammann and previously held the position of Associate Director, CME Foreign Exchange Products. Prior to joining CME in 2003, Schulz was an independent floor trader in the CME FX markets and held FX broker/sales management roles for Merrill Lynch Futures Inc. on the CME trading floor. He also was an FX trader at Lloyd's Bank PLC. in New York. Schulz earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Sayee Srinivasan, 41, Promoted to Director, Research & Product Development

Srinivasan is responsible for research and product development of CME financial products and alternative investment products such as real estate derivatives. He also plays a key role in CME's business development efforts in Asia, particularly India and China. Srinivasan reports to CME Director, Financial Research Richard Co and previously served as Associate Director, Financial Product Development. Before joining CME in 2001, Srinivasan worked at OptiMark Technologies. He also held investment banking roles for DSP Financial Services and Banque Nationale de Paris, both in Mumbai. Srinivasan earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree from the University of Bombay. He also earned master's and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

John Steele, 47, Promoted to Director, Treasury Strategy and Capital Markets

Steele is responsible for management of CME's capital structure, including analysis and execution of shareholder dividends, long range financial modeling and investment banking capital markets relationships. Steele also assists with all real estate and leasing needs. He reports to CME Director, Treasurer James Pribel and previously served as Associate Director, Treasury Strategy and Capital Markets. Before joining CME in 2000, Steele worked for Deloitte & Touche. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Emory University, a master's degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago.
