Do some Doomsday Preppers just take things too far?

Tom Perez has not worked in 12 years because he is prepping for a terrorist attack.

Thousands of people are out there “prepping” for the worst, with various fears of what disaster could send them underground and “off the grid” for weeks, months, even years. For Tom Perez, featured this week on National Geographic Channel's Doomsday Preppers, his greatest fear is a terrorist attack.

According to National Geographic:

A single dirty bomb could cause massive chaos. Tom Perez is prepping for a terrorist attack and suspects it's only a matter of time before one gets through our defenses. He has not worked in 12 years because he spends most of his day prepping and spends much of his family's yearly income on preps.

“You’re gonna talk to your children about drugs; talk to them about prepping,” Perez says.

Is Perez overreacting to an overblown fear, or do you think he is on the right track? Stay tuned and find out more of Tom Perez’s story tonight on Doomsday Preppers, airing on National Geographic Channel at 9 p.m.

Dr. Perez spends $ 2 million preparing for doomsday. Only one hicup, a rifle shoot while he's wearing eye protection sends him crying & puking to EMT's. He should do well if there is a disaster. Gotta love the weekend warriors playing make believe.

if anyone wants to know where there is a readily available stockpile of goodies please read the rest of my comment with the map shown on the program and bing maps it took about 2 minutes to find Brackettville, TX, United States. and five minutes before I was looking at the so called compound its just outside the town about 2 miles to be precise and 200 yards from the road on the left when travelling on 90 in an easterly direction looks lovely complete with burn smudge on the water tank...x silly man

If this loser Perez and his wimpy family really had to defend their property they wouldn't last long. I saw several holes in their defenses throughout the show. Hell, even if you didn't see it all it would take is an angry mob wanting their supplies. There is no way they could stop even a small mob from getting them. Does idiot Perez expect them to wait while he gets his hearing protection and shooting glasses? What if he can't will he expect his crying and constant barfing to scare them off? This guy is a big p*ssy and wouldn't last in any tragic event so I don't know why he bothers trying to prepare. He needs to prepare to be a man first.
