Being a U.S. Marine is a tough job and not for the fainthearted. It gets even more difficult when you are stationed in a place like Afghanistan.
Amidst the seriousness of politics and war, a few lighthearted U.S. Marines showed us they can still have a good time. The Hollywood Gossip reports these “unlikely fans of Britney Spears” performed their own rendition of “Hold It Against Me.”
The beginning of the video opens with “somewhere deep in the heart of Afghanistan.” The talented crew produced and starred in their own homage to pop star Britney Spears.
Known as the few and the proud, these U.S. Marines showed their whimsical side in the video as they dance and lip sync to the Britney Spears' tune.
CBS News reports Britney Spears gave the military version of her song kudos and tweeted, "I am in LOVE with this... I always knew our soldiers were fierce!"
Along with captivating the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan, Spears is known for luring crowds around the world to her live music events. Her 2011 Femme Fatale tour includes a female lineup featuring Nicki Minaj, Nervo and Jessie and the Toy Boys.
Spears' North American tour starts on June 16. FoxNews reports Spears said, “This is the Femme Fatale tour and I'm thrilled to have Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo join me and get everyone on the dance floor. Can't wait to take the Femme Fatales on the road.”
While there was no official dance floor involved, the U.S. Marines made the most of what they had during their video performance of “Hold It Against Me.”
“Femme Fatale” is Britney Spears' seventh studio album. It is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard Album charts. She ranks as one of the top-selling artists of the past decade, selling over 67 million albums around the world since her 1999 debut.
“Hold It Against Me” has already sold over one million copies. “Hold It Against Me” is also the number one video on MTV and VH1 in the United States. It debuted at number one on the Hot Digital Songs Chart and the Hot 100 Singles Chart.
The U.S. Marines are part of a large fan base for Britney Spear and prove to be some of the most demonstrative fans ever.
Britney Spears recently released “Till The World Ends,” the second single from “Femme Fatale.” Somehow, that sounds a bit more concerning for U.S. Marines to perform "Till The World Ends" than “Hold It Against Me.”
