Nigella Lawson Gets Choked By Her Husband in a Restaurant

Yesterday a British tabloid revealed a photo of celebrity chef Nigella Lawson getting choked by her husband, Charles Saatchi, at a London restaurant. The photo went virile and appeared on shows such as “Entertainment Tonight.” Fans were clearly concerned that the sexy chef was a victim of domestic violence. According to the New York Daily News, tycoon Saatchi admitted to the attack at the restaurant. The photo was difficult to dispute since it showed him with a hand around his wife's throat.

The couple was dining al fresco at Scott's, a seafood restaurant in London, when the photos were taken. They show Saatchi with his hand around 53-year-old Nigella's throat and she clearly looks upset then left the restaurant in tears. At first Saatchi referred to the situation as a “playful tiff” and stated the photos were more “drastic” than what really occurred. The advertising mogul owns art galleries in New York and London. But Saatchi was questioned for five hours at a London police station before being hit with caution for assault, which is a warning. Nigella did not press any formal charges but a formal representative stated she moved out of the family home. The couple has been married a decade and it is her second marriage and his third. While Saatchi originally downplayed the incident, clearly there is no excuse for abuse.

4 cups strawberries
2 teaspoons vanilla or granulated sugar
2 teaspoons pomegranate juice
2 cups whipping cream
4 small packaged meringue nests

1. Hull and chop the strawberries. Place them in a bowl then add the sugar and pomegranate juice. Leave the mix to macerate while you whip the cream.

2. Whip the cream in a large bowl until thick but soft. Crumble in 4 of the meringue nests and keep chunks for texture as well as a little fine dust.

3. Take out about half a cupful of the chopped strawberries then fold the meringue cream and the remainder of the fruit mixture together.

4. Arrange on 4 serving glasses or plates or in a mound. Top the servings off with the remaining macerated strawberries.
