Summer is here and HGTV know people prefer the living to be easy. Fans look forward to the next episode of HGTV "Beachfront Bargain Hunt" with baited breath. Recently a couple scored a fabulous waterfront home in Fort Myers, Florida, the place where they fell in love. Now HGTV is offering an array of ideas to bring the beach to your home, no matter where it is located.
If you want to feel summertime all year round, add beach-inspired accents to your living areas. HGTV recommends covering a wall with an eye-catching map from floor to ceiling. People who are pirates at heart might want to refer to it as a treasure map and encourage people to figure out if they can find a buried treasure at sea. Adding model ships to shelves or hearths is another way to bring the beach to any room in your home. Curtains with shells, shower curtains with fish or dolphins and filling a bowl with seashells are all ways to bring the beach into your home on a budget.
Bring the Outdoors Inside
Another way to get a beach vibe wherever you live is to bring a few furniture elements meant to be used outdoors into your home. A great example is wicker chairs including papasan chairs and wicker dining chairs. They bring an outdoor freshness into your kitchen and dining areas. Include beach art on the walls and wicker place mats on the table to finish off the look. HGTV reveals one dramatic, beachy piece of art can become the focal point in any room and add an outdoor aura throughout the year.
Effective Use of Color
Certain hues are associated with a waterfront home and beach environments. The blues and greens of the sea and sky can be brought into your living spaces to make them feel like a beach cottage no matter where you reside. Calm tones of blue and green with accents in beige and white resemble the beauty and elegance of waterfront bed-and-breakfasts. Chocolate tones and whites are also a fantastic way to bring the beach into your abode. White-on-white brings a classic beauty into a beach theme. Add dashes of wicker, wood and leather for luxury. Stripes and symmetry finish off the beach feeling.
Now that we have our own beachfront bargain home, we are always looking for cool ways to make it more nautical. For example, we painted an old anchor to use as a fireplace hearth decoration. Do you have any beachfront decorating ideas? Share them with us below!
