Kermit the Frog Joins The Chew for Green Holiday Cheer

Today Kermit the Frog is sharing time with ABC's The Chew and showing it is easier being green around the holiday season.

The holiday season is coming up soon and ABC's “The Chew” is helping everyone prepare for it. Today Kermit the Frog will stop by to share some cheer with viewers. The crew is also presenting more than 50 tips and tricks to successfully get through the holidays.

Kermit the Frog on “The Chew”

One upon a time, Kermit the Frog claimed it was not easy being green. His timeless appeal proves otherwise as this famous frog joins ABC's “The Chew” today. The magnificent Muppet was first introduced back in 1955. Kermit the Frog has turned out to be the most famous creation by puppeteer Jim Henson.

The television career enjoyed by Kermit the Frog has been one many stars envy. He appeared in an array of sketches on the popular television show, “Sesame Street.” Kermit also was the host of “The Muppet Show” and appeared in a variety of public service announcements as well as commercials. The fabulous frog also had a hit single in 1979 from “The Muppet Movie” entitled “The Rainbow Connection.” It was the first feature-length movie featuring the beloved Muppets. The song soard to number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Henson performed Kermit until his death in 1990 then Steve Whitmire performed as this fantastic frog. In “Muppet Babies” Frank Welker was the voice of Kermit. Besides a stellar career in television, movies and music, Kermit is also an author. He is created with the 2006 autobiography, “Before You Leap: A Frog's Eye View of Life's Greatest Lessons.”

Kermit also had a romantic liasion with fellow Muppet, Miss Piggy. With all of his talents, he is sure to know his way around the kitchen. Today Kermit the Frog will be stopping in to visit the crew at “The Chew.” Parents and kids can gather around the television for this family-friendly episode to see their favorite frog in action.

50 Holiday Tips and Tricks from “The Chew”

In November, “The Chew” offered an abundance of wonderful tips for Thanksgiving. From desserts to stuffing and turkey, they left no stone un-turned. Now that December is here, everyone is thinking about the holiday season. There is always a lot to do with little time to get it done. Today the chew is sharing 50 holiday tips and tricks to make the preparations a bit easier. They are even serving up a Christmas calzone. Mario and Kermit are making it together with stir fry green escarole. Clinton will also appear as "Fabby Claus" to discuss some holiday etiquette. Michael is making the holiday ham which sounds delicious. The show has also updated the crew for the "Dish of the Day" showing Mario with a red nose and Michael wearing a green bow on his bald head.

On their Facebook page, “The Chew” asks fans to share their fail-safe holiday gift that never gets returned. Several viewers answered with liquor items such as wine or rum. Others mentioned desserts including fudge and cinnamon rolls. Many mentioned gift cards for practical items such as gas and food that are sure to be appreciated by the recipient. Kermit said the worst gift he ever received was a fly swatter because it takes all the fun out of it. With so much to think about before the holiday season, “The Chew” is presenting ways to get the job done in a fast and fun way. Their holiday stuffed animal is Randy the Reindeer, a Sagittarius who loves jazz. HULIQ will return with more later.
