On Tuesday, Williams was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia at General Mitchell International Airport. Security at the Milwaukee airport found Montel Williams carrying a marijuana pipe as he passed through.
Former talk show host Montel Williams is a Multiple Sclerosis sufferer and advocate for the legalization of marijuana. Williams was initially diagnosed with MS in 1999.
People reports Williams, 54, was released after he paid a $484 fine. Once the fine was covered, Williams was on his way. There is no word on what happened to the marijuana pipe. Apparently, there was no pot to go along with the drug paraphenalia.
According to the Washington Post, 700 Club Founder Pat Robertson recently said about the decriminalization of pot, “I'm not exactly for the use of drugs, don't get me wrong, but I just believe that criminalizing marijuana, criminalizing the possession of a few ounces of pot, that kinda thing, it's just, it's costing us a fortune and it's ruining young people.”
Meanwhile, the UPI recently reported the pot industry formed a national lobby after being undeterred by a failure of a legalization vote in California. Aaron Smith, executive director of the National Cannabis Industry Association, stated, “Our intent is to be the go-to organization in Washington for this industry.”
Montel Williams is reported to use medical marijuana to ease the neuropathic pain related to having multiple sclerosis for over a decade.
