A mystery is solved today on ABC's “The Chew.” The crew is unveiling the secret life of bacon. It is found in an array of favorite dishes. Alan and Tanya Thicke of “Celebrity Wife Swap” are stopping by the show to find out more about making bacon.
The Secret Life of Bacon on ABC's “The Chew”
Most people think of bacon as a meat to accompany their eggs and toast in the morning. But bacon is a part of many dishes. From breakfast to lunch to dinner, people can find bacon lurking the most unexpected places. Today on “The Chew” the crew is uncovering the secret life of bacon and showing fans how to make dishes featuring this favorite meat.
Bacon winds up in many recipes to add a dash of flavor and texture. Many people like to sprinkle bacon bits over their salads. It makes them more filling and satisfying. Sometimes the bacon bits are dried and come from a spice container. Other times they are make and served fresh over the salad. A Cobb salad with hard boiled eggs and fresh bacon is a hearty meal anytime of the day.
Often bacon finds its ways into various sauces, too. A cream sauce with bacon served over pasta is always delicious. People often wonder what that great taste is in the sauce. Bacon can also be mixed into tomato sauces. “The Chew” took to its Facebook page to ask fans about their favorite ways to eat and serve bacon. One fan commented, “Bacon wrapped sausage stuffing. Oh my goodness!! Also, bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese (awesome when thrown on the grill.” Another fan was more traditional and said, “I love a BLT, of course, straight up bacon with toast and coffee can't be beat either.” A bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich is a favorite to make at home or order at diners. Today fans will find out even more ways to enjoy bacon.
Alan and Tanya Thicke Stop By ABC's “The Chew”
Today Alan Thicke and his wife Tanya are stopping by to chew the fat with “The Chew.” They will join the crew to discover all different ways to prepare bacon. Alan Thicke is well-known for his role as Jason Seaver in the ABC comedy series, “Growing Pains,” that aired in the 1980's and into the early 1990's. It will be fun to see him in the kitchen with his wife as they unearth the mysteries of making bacon.
Fans can also see Alan and Tanya Thicke tomorrow night at 8 pm ET on the ABC show, “Celebrity Wife Swap.” The show is much like “Wife Swap” only the swapping is done by celebrities. The wives relocate to live with the other woman's husband and shed some insight into their lives. On the show tomorrow, Tanya will be swapping with Gilbert Gottfried's wife. Gilbert Gottfried is a popular comic known for his loud voice and squinting. Tanya will be surprised by Gilbert's economical ways when she leaves her lavish life to trade places with his wife Dara.
