
This spring, Slash with start a U.S tour. to warm fans up for his upcoming album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Slash tour dates for 2012 include performances in major cities across the country. Slash will also perform at the upcoming "Power of Love Gala" in honor of boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
Slash, former Guns N Roses guitarist, is striking out on his own again, this time with Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge. Kennedy contributed vocals to two album tracks on Slash's previous album. He was also a touring vocalist with bassist Todd Kearns and drummer Brent Fitz.
Loudwire reports Slash said about the group, “It turned out to be a very cohesive collaboration.” After working with them on tour for a year and a half, Slash decided if he did another record it would be with them.
Guns N Roses just kicked off their international tour at Roseland Ballroom in NYC during Fashion Week. Last week, Axl Rose celebrated his 50th birthday. Axl is the only original member left in Guns N Roses.
Slash's successful first solo album included guest vocalists Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Chris Cornell and M. Shadows. The upcoming album will arrive at stores on May 22, 2012. The new tracks will be performed live when the tour starts on May 3 in Baltimore.
Tickets for the Slash 2012 tour become available to the public on Friday, February 17 at SlashOnline.com with pre-sales starting on Wednesday, February 15. Slash will also attend the 70th birthday celebration for Muhammad Ali in Las Vegas on Saturday, February 18.
Blabbermouth reports others attending the “Power of Love Gala” in honor of the boxing legend include Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, Sean Combs, Lenny Kravitz, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oprah Winfrey and former President Bill Clinton. Tickets are online for the gala now, which will be nationally televised on Saturday, February 25.
Slash said, “It's a huge honor to be able to perform in his honor. He is one of the great icons of American culture and history.” Slash states Muhammad Ali was a role model and hero to him. The 16th annual gala celebrating the life and legacy of Ali also raises awareness for ALS, Alzheimers, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's and Parkinson's, which is what Ali has been battling since 1984.
The Grammy-winning guitarist and songwriter is working on his new album in Las Vegas to be released under his own label, Dik Hayd International. His 2010 debut, “Slash,” debuted at number 3 on The Billboard 200 chart. Songs for the new album were written together by Slash and Kennedy.

Slash also co-founded the supergroup, Velvet Revolver. He landed on the Rolling Stone list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011.
