Dreams do come true with contests such as the HGTV Dream Home 2012 Giveaway. While the chance to enter that contest ended on February 17, there is another contest for people hoping to win a dream home. Taylor Morrison's 2012 Dream Home Giveaway includes a dream home built for the winner and a getaway for four to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

Taylor Morrison's 2012 Dream Home Giveaway

This family-friendly Taylor Morrison's 2012 Dream Home Giveaway is not worth $2 million like the HGTV Dream House Giveaway. Taylor Morrison's more modest dream-come-true is valued at around $200,000.

Potential winners of the HGTV Dream Home 2012 Giveaway often consider whether they will be able to afford to keep such a magnificent home. Taylor Morrison's 2012 dream home is within reach for most average winners to maintain.

One grand prize winner will be selected. The promotion begins on January 21, 2012 at 12:01 AM MT and ends on July 31, 2012 at 11:59:59 PM MT. No purchase or payment is required to enter or win the contest. According to the Taylor Morrison website, participation is intended for legal residents of the United States and Puerto Rico.

The Grand Prize winner will receive one Taylor Morrison single-family residence located in their chosen Taylor Morrison community. States where the communities are located include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida and Texas. The winner also receives an exciting trip for four to Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.

The value of the home is $200,000. The Grand Prize winner helps select the floor plan, appliances, options and landscaping. For many, it would be a dream come true to select the home of their choice and have it built to their specifications. The winner will need to cover certain fees to acquire and maintain their dream home.

The trip to Disneyland includes hotel accommodations for two nights, round-trip air travel and four (4) 2-day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets. The value of the trip is $2,500. In today's difficult economy, many families would welcome the opportunity to get a brand new home and travel to Disneyland. This brings the total value of Taylor Morrison's 2012 Dream Home Giveaway to $202,500.

The drawing to select a Grand Prize winner will happen on or about August 8, 2012. The lucky winner will be contacted within five business days by email, phone and/or USPS mail.

Former Taylor Morrison Dream Home Winners

The Taylor Morrison website showcases previous winners of their Dream Home Giveaway. The Taylor Morrison 2008 Dream Home Giveaway winner was single mother, Jennifer Draa. She now resides with her son in a lovely California home.

The Taylor Morrison 2009 Dream Home Giveaway winner was Kristen Pierce, who never considered herself lucky. After forgetting about her submission, Pierce found she won the dream home and said, “You know, there are certain drawings I'm not going to be afraid to enter anymore. You can't win if you don't enter. If you want to win something, you have to enter.”

The 2010 winner, Michael Bernardo, lost his job due to the recession. The Dream Home Giveaway gave Bernardo, his wife and their four children a brand new home in Arizona. In 2010, there were over 700,000 entries. Below are videos about the Bernardos' win and a tour of their new home.

The winner of the Taylor Morrison 2011 Dream Home Giveaway was Chicago grandmother Lauren McCaleb. Though she had never visited Arizona, she chose to have her home built there. She and her husband retired there in 2012 and McCaleb said it was hard to believe she won, “But having the keys in my hand and the home in front of me made it sink in.”
