Sony made a statement on the Whitney Houston website, a day after her unexpected death on February 11, 2012. The record company stated, “Whitney Houston was an icon and a once-in-a-lifetime talent who inspired a generation of singers and brought joy to millions of fans around the world. She had a voice of unmatched beauty and power that changed music forever, and she leaves behind an indelible legacy of timeless songs that will never be forgotten.”
Music producer Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy Awards party turned into a tribute in memory of Whitney Houston. Tony Bennett peformed “How Do You Keep the Music Playing.” Other artists performing in tribute include Sean Combs, Alicia Keys, The Kinks and Wiz Khalifa. Combs stated if it wasn't for Clive Davis, “the world may not have known about this miracle voice.” There will also be a tribute to Whitney Houston at the Grammys that may include Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan.
Whitney Houston is the only female artist with seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard hot 100 hits. She also worked on movie soundtracks including “Waiting to Exhale.” The Whitney Houston albums list starts in 1985 with the album, Whitney Houston, and wraps up in 2009 with I Look To You.

It is one of the best-selling albums of all time, selling more than 25 million copies worldwide.
The second studio album by Whitney Houston was entitled Whitney and released in the United States on June 2, 1987 by Arista Records. It was the follow-up to Whitney Houston and soared to popularity. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and became the first album by a female artist to do so. Four singles peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart including “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “Didn't We Almost Have It All,” “So Emotional,” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.” The album was an international success, which made Whitney Houston the era's top female star.
The third on Whitney Houston albums list is I'm Your Baby Tonight released on Novembe6, 1990 by Arista Records. After this album, Houston ventured heavily into acting in films and working on their soundtracks. For this album, Houston worked with previous producers Narada Michael Walden and Michael Masser and the team of L.A. Reid and Baby Face, singer Luther Vandross and did a collaboration with Stevie Wonder. The two number one hits on this album were “I'm Your Baby Tonight,” and “All The Man I Need.”
The fourth of Whitney Houston's albums was My Love Is Your Love released worldwide on November 17, 1998. It was her first studio album in eight years after I'm Your Baby Tonight. Producers on the album included Rodney Jerkins, Wyclef Jean, David Foster, Soulshock & Karlin and Babyface. There were five hit singles with three top five Hot 100 hits, “Heartbreak Hotel,” “It's Not Right But It's Okay,” and “My Love Is Your Love.” Worldwide the album has sold more than 10 million copies.
The fifth studio album by Whitney Houston was Just Whitney, released by Arista Records on December 10, 2002 and debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200. The album sold more than 3 million copies worldwide and earned Platinum certification in the United States. Three of the official four singles peaked at number one on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart including, “Whatchulookinat,” “Love That Man,” and “Try It On my Own.”
The sixth album by Whitney Houston was also her first Christmas album. One Wish: The Holiday Album was released in 2003 and featured the single, “One Wish (for Christmas),” which reached the top twenty of the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. The album also included “Joy to the World,” and “Who Would Imagine a King” from The Preacher's Wife: Original Soundtrack Album released in 1996.
The seventh on the list of Whitney Houston albums list is I Look To You released through Sony Music in Europe on August 28, 2009 then with Arista Records in the United States on August 31, 2009. On October 19, 2009 it was released by RCA Records in the United Kingdom. It debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at number one. The two official sings were the title song, “I Look to You,” and “Million Dollar Bill.” The albums earned platinum certification in seven countries and sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.
On Saturday, February 11, 2012, Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm. The singer was 48 years old. The world will remember Whitney Houston forever through the melodic sounds of her amazing voice.
