HGTV proves celebrities are real people, too, in its newest renovation series, The Jennie Garth Project. The series will premiere in September with 10-half hour episodes following the actress and mom as she revamps her dated California home.

Many people fondly remember Jennie Garth in her role as Kelly Taylor in the hit series Beverly Hills, 90210. Now HGTV fans get a chance to see Jennie in a whole new light as she helps overhaul her dated home in Hollywood Hills, California.

All About Jennie

Currently Jennie appears in the new series Mystery Girls with her former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star, Tori Spelling. The show currently airs on ABC Family. Now fans can see more of their favorite star in HGTV's The Jennie Garth Project. Jennie has three daughters with her former husband, actor Peter Facinelli. After over a decade together, the couple divorced last year. Now Jennie is a single mom who wants to revamp her home. HGTV viewers will get a golden opportunity to watch her learn how to tackle home improvement projects.

Making it Happen

HGTV plans to air 10 half-hour episodes of The Jennie Garth Project. The show premieres with back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, September 16 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. In a recent press release, Jennie states, "As a single woman and mother of three daughters, I definitely know there is nothing I can't do." Jennie will be hands-on during the renovation project. She adds, "This is the house that's defining me and my place in the world right now."

Stripping Down and Rebuilding

The new HGTV show will following Jennie and her contractor Scott as they strip down her California home. The goal is to rebuild the Hollywood Hills abode into Jennie's dream home. Much like any other single mother, Jennie is looking to save money by doing some of the work herself. This means she will refinish bathroom and kitchen cabinets. Fans will also see her using chainsaw to clear her property.

Jennie's style is sleek and modern, which is sure to appeal to many viewers.
