Vauxhall UK Beatboxing Championships 2009

Beatboxing: The art of producing drum beats, rhythm, and musical sounds using one's mouth, lips, tongue, voice, nasal passage and throat.

Performers up and down the country are flexing their vocal chords for the chance to win a brand spanking new car in the UK Vauxhall Beatboxing Championships – back and bigger than ever for 2009.

Think you’ve got what it takes to challenge last year’s victor MC Zani to his beatboxing crown? Check out www.vauxhallbeatboxchamps.co.uk to find out how to enter and bag yourself a Vauxhall Corsa SXi worth £12,700 to boot.

Regional heats will be hotly contested from February to June in London, Bristol, Nottingham and Newcastle, where beatboxing hopefuls will have to battle it out against each other, attempting to impress both crowd and judges and win a coveted place in June’s grand final.

Finalists will then have to rev up a 2,000-strong audience at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in front of the judges – beatboxing royalty TyTe, Faith SFX and Indra, with loud-mouthed legend Stig of the Dump presiding over the action as host. As well as sets from all three judges, the crowd will be treated to a performance from vocal percussionists Bauchklang, who’ll be ripping off the roof with an exclusive show.

If you think you’ve got the beatboxing brilliance to nab the title as well as a slick black Corsa SXi, complete with air conditioning, Bluetooth for your mobile, metallic paint and impressive 17’’ alloys, it’s time to step up to the mic at the Vauxhall Beatboxing Championships 2009.
