
AT&T Voice and Network Services Will Support the Weight Loss Company's New E-Business Strategy
AT&T Inc. today announced that LA Weight Loss Centers, Inc. has renewed and expanded its contract with AT&T for network and voice services. These services will allow LA Weight Loss to provide new, innovative tools, such as an e-commerce Web site, to assist its customers with its personalized weight-loss programs.
The multiyear agreement, valued at $7 million, includes the installation of Private Network Transport (PNT), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology and managed routers, as well as a renewed Local and Long Distance voice contract including RouteIt and Internet Cache Protocol (ICP) features. The contract provides LA Weight Loss with a scalable solution, facilitating marketing and sales efforts at its nearly 400 corporate locations in the United States.

In order to maintain its leadership position in the industry, LA Weight Loss required an upgraded network with increased capacity and functionality. The PNT service will provide LA Weight Loss with flexibility and scalability to help control product inventory and distribution, as well as to support personalized order fulfillment for its customer base. In addition, it will support the company's future plan to implement Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
