Britney Spears Shaven 'Hair Cut': Is it worth the media buzz?

Today Britney Spears, an internationally known pop start and celebrity from United State made world-wide headlines because of Britney's new hair cut, which is an entirely shaven head.

Thousands of US soldiers and civilians are dying in Iraq, millions are in poverty without a daily bread, and these stories don't make the headlines, but a pop start Britney Spears, due to society's obsession with a celebrity lifestye, with her 'new hair cut' makes the world headlines.

Even BBC wrote an extensive article about Britney's bald head titled: "Bald new look for Britney Spears."

"American pop star Britney Spears has revealed her latest look - a completely shaven head"¦ A tattoo artist at the Body and Soul parlour told KABC television that Ms Spears' was tattooed with "cute little lips on her wrist"." Writes BBC.

To be honest, I did not expect BBC to do such a detailed research on how gets what hair cut and who gets what tattoos.

It's true there is a demand for these kinds of stories. Probably even this article will get thousands of hits today, but shouldn't media also take the role of educating the public and especially the youth? Just this week Newsweek wrote extensively on Long-term harmful effects of Britney, Paris and Lindsay's bad behavior on young women.

"Seventy-Seven Percent of Americans Say Young Women Celebrities Have Too Much Influence on Young Girls Newsweek Examines Whether There Are Harmful Long-Term Effects of Overexposure to the Celebrity Bad Behavior.

Like never before, kids are being bombarded by images of oversexed, underdressed celebrities who can't seem to step out of a car without displaying their well-waxed private parts to photographers, writes Assistant Managing Editor Kathleen Deveny with Assistant Editor Raina Kelley in the current issue of Newsweek."

Britney Spears surely is an international super pop star who sold millions of CDs, but does this mean that every time she has a new hairstyle or hair cut, or perhaps a new tattoo it should make a world headline?

The result of a fallen

The result of a fallen nation is sexual idols. And she is one. We have lost it. She is only a representation of who we are internally that's why it's fastinating for us to watch. It's a mirror.

Leave the lady alone

Her career as a celebrity is over, and she obviously wants it over. She needs a therapist and some downtime. Let her spend a while being a mother.

She needs help, but I know

She needs help, but I know she'll eventually get passed this and be on top of the world again.

I agree with all of the comments about media coverage and celebrities like Britney Spears. Especially the first one. "The result of a fallen nation is sexual idols." It's truly a mirror. The media should act more responsibly and she truly needs some help and needs to be left alone. It's not all her fault either.
