The U.S. Congress has recently identified maritime security as one of our country's greatest vulnerabilities. GE Security and its global partners have made commercially available the CommerceGuard System, a global supply chain system that deters and detects theft, smuggling, and international terrorism by integrating container security devices (CSDs) within a global information network, to meet these maritime security needs.

As part of an ongoing security initiative, GE Security will announce the deployment of CommerceGuard at the Port of Portland to provide enhanced security options to the port's customers. GE Security and the Port of Portland, along with Senator Wyden and Congressman Blumenauer, will hold a press conference on February 19 to make this announcement.
