Delegates at a three-day forum aimed at promoting U.S.-Islamic dialogue have voiced pessimism about the situation in Iraq.
Participants at the 34-country forum, which closed on February 19, stressed that peace and security in the Middle East would greatly help bridge the gap between the Islamic world and the United States.
Delegates said both the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Iraq war have contributed to estrangement between the Islamic world and the United States.
